During the phone conversation between Carter and Captain Wiliam Diel, Diel mention that he was at a banquet where he was supposed to be nominated for commissioner of the LAPD and over two hundred LAPD Officers were there. Carter asks if Mario Sanchez was there cause he owes him money but it is unknown what amount it was.

- Just like Lee's father and Carter's father, Mario Sanchez is an unseen character.
- Sanchez would be the first unseen Hispanic-American Officer in the film series. In the television series there is an on screen Hispanic-American Officer who is female and her name is Didi Diaz.
